The Super Six is the West Virginia high school football championship games. What starts out with 48 teams in post season play culminates on December 4 & 5 when the top 2 two teams from each of the three classes (based on size) meet for the championship games.

Saturday December 5, 1998 - 12 Noon
Saturday December 5, 1998 - 6:00 PM
The Super Six games will be held in Wheeling, West Virginia at the Wheeling Island Stadium. The stadium, which is the home field of Wheeling Park High School, has a grass playing surface and seats 10,200 with additional room for some 2000 standing room only.
Wheeling is located 60 miles southwest of Pittsburgh, Pa and 120 miles east of Columbus, OH. Interstate 70 is the major East-West highway through town and West Virginia Route 2 is the major North-South highway.
To get to the stadium take the westbound exit off of I-70 onto Wheeling Island or cross the suspension bridge at 10th and Main Streets from downtown. From either bridge, turn left and go to the extreme south end of Wheeling Island following signs to Wheeling Downs. Suggested parking is in the Wheeling Downs parking lot which is directly across the street from the stadium. A minimal fee is charged to park in the lot.
The Super Six Championships are governed by the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission, better known as the WVSSAC. Warren Carter is the Executive Secretary of this group headquartered in Parkersburg,

Tickets for individual games will be available from each of the six participating high schools or through any agents they may use. The cost per ticket is $6.00. There is NO reserved seating.
Tickets can also be purchased in advance for all three games for $15.00 at any Kroger store or One Valley Bank office in the Ohio Valley area. No individual game tickets are sold through these two agents.
Tickets may also be purchased in advance directly from the Super Six committee or at the stadium, based on availability, the day of the game .

There are NO fast food restaurants within reasonable walking distance of the Wheeling Island Stadium. The Wheeling-Ohio Valley area does have most major fast food restaurants, however.

Sure you're heading to Wheeling to see the Super Six games but why not take in some special things the Ohio Valley has to offer.
